Design
The great thing about Xebex is that you know you’re getting a quality machine. Each model has been tested with 1,000,000 rows to ensure maximum durability.
The damper setting is adjustable, so you can raise or lower the resistance between 1 and 10. The higher resistance levels offer a similar feel to deep-water rowing, which can be very challenging.
The built-in LCD monitor is easy to see and use while you’re rowing, and will track a variety of helpful stats. Along with the calories burned, time and distance, you can also keep track of the paddle width. A heart rate reader is built-into the machine, but you’ll need a chest strap to monitor your pulse.
Another nice thing about this machine and its console is that you can customize your programmed workout to target calories, distance or time at a 500m pace. There are also built-in programs with interval settings, and a “just row” setting that lets you get straight to your workout.
We also love that you can fold up and store it away in between uses, or even transport it quite easily. The four built-in wheels make it relatively easy to move from one place to another. While this may not be something you take with you while you travel, it can be helpful if you want to move it to a new room in your home or even the corner of a room.
If you’re short on space, you’ll really appreciate the wheels and folding design of this model.
One thing that really sets this machine apart is the fact that it comes with extra conditioning equipment that really helps you bring your workout to the next level. In addition, you’ll also get:
- EZ speed rope
- Back saver pad
- 20-pound wall ball
- 15-pound slam ball
You can use these accessories to perform dozens of exercises. If you enjoy circuit training, you can use the rope and fitness balls along with the machine to get a complete, full-body workout with each session.

Pros
- Comes with conditioning accessories to maximize your workouts
- Extra stable and durable
- Folds up for easy storage
- Wheels allow for easy transport
- Built-in workout programs
- 10 resistance levels
Cons
- Heart rate monitor requires chest strap
The only drawback with this machine is that you’ll need to buy a chest strap separately if you want to monitor your heart rate. This isn’t a deal-breaker by any means, but something you should be aware of.
The Xebex is on par with the Concept 2, but comes at a more affordable price. If you’re looking for a quality air model that offers extra conditioning accessories, this is the right choice for you.
