Our Velocity Vantage Rower Review
Quiet, smooth and sturdy, the Velocity air rower makes a great addition to any home gym. Whether you’re just starting out or have been rowing for years, this machine will give you a great workout.
The 16 levels of tension resistance allow for a bigger challenge when rowing, so you can choose a setting that best matches your fitness level. The nylon band also ensures that rowing is quiet, so you can exercise in peace.
The built-in heart rate monitor allows you to keep track of your pulse, so you can stay within your target range and get the most out of your workouts.
The large LCD monitor is backlit, so you can see your stats even if you’re working out at 3 AM. The extra-large screen is easy to read, and the height is adjustable, so you don’t have to twist your neck just to see it.
If you enjoy variety, you’ll appreciate the pre-programmed workouts, including 12 presets and five heart rate controls. Up to five user profiles can be created, too.
The folding design allows you to store the rower away in between workouts, and also features built-in wheels for easier transport.
In the comfort department, this rower excels. The seat features a unique design that makes your workout more comfortable, no matter how long your session. The seat also sits 19.5” off the ground, which makes it easier to sit down and stand up. The footpads are adjustable, too, so you can choose a size that best fits your foot.
- 16 resistance levels make workouts more challenging no matter your fitness level
- Higher seat is easier to get on and off of
- Folding design saves space
- Adjustable footpads and LCD height allow you to customize this machine’s fit
- Built-in programs allow for varied workouts
- Pulse monitoring allows you to keep track of your heart rate
- Virtually silent when in use
- Rowing is smooth
- Assembly can be difficult
Some rowers are easy to assemble and others – not so much. This model, unfortunately, fits into the latter category. Be prepared to spend some time putting this machine together, and some users did have issues with bolts not lining up with holes precisely. Don’t let that turn you away from this machine, though. Overall, this is a solid rower and worth the effort to assemble it.
If you’re looking for a rower that you can progress with, the Velocity Exercise Vantage is a great option. The 16 resistance levels give you plenty of room to grow with this machine as your fitness level progresses. The built-in programs allow you to vary your workouts, and the folding design allows you to save space when you’re not exercising.
If your fitness goals are to lose weight and tone up then it might be worth checking out the Xebex Air Rower and Conditioning Pack. This model is slightly cheaper and comes with an EZ speed rope, back saver pad, 20-pound wall ball and a 15-pound slam ball.
